Coffee was first grown in the Central Valley of Costa Rica where the climate is cool, the soil is fertile, and the altitude is high, all factors that help to create a killer crop.Costa Rica is the only country where executive decree only allows the Arabica species to be grown. The Arabica species actually contains the least amount of caffeine but the most desirable flavors. As a result, Costa Rica won numerous international contests and certifications.


Why Honey Processed?

  • After picking, normal coffee processing removes the fruit pulp from coffee cherries and reveals the seed inside (the coffee bean). They are washed in water and then dried.
  • During honey processing, the cherry fruit is dried on the seed. This gives the final bean a totally transformed flavour. As the cherry dries, it is natural sugars and pectin ferment imparting the sweet and complex flavours you will taste in the coffee. The coffee offers a lot of sweetness and flavours while remaining clean.
  • Good body, fruity, bright acidity with a clean and crisp taste.

Roast level: Medium light

Tasting Notes: Acidity (1-5) 4, Sweetness (1-5) 4, Body (1-5) 3.
