What You Need to Know About Disposable Diapers

Any substance or object that can be decomposed by bacteria or other microorganisms falls under the category of biodegradable.

Most parents are happy to choose diapers labeled "biodegradable." However, many do not know that biodegradable diapers can take more than 50 years to decompose. This might be different from what you imagined.

If you want to fully consider the overall impact of diapers on your baby and the environment, relying solely on terms like "eco-conscious" and "environmentally friendly" may not be enough.

As a parent, you definitely want to understand the products you buy for your baby. The ingredients, manufacturing materials, and environmental impact are all very important to you.

 

Material Composition of Parasol Clear+Dry™ Natural Disposable Diapers

Layer 1: Topsheet

 

When you unfold the diaper, this is the soft material that first touches your baby's delicate skin.

Parasol's topsheet is made of ultra-soft hydrophilic embossed non-woven fabric imported from Korea. This topsheet is specially designed to enhance airflow and maximize pore area, thereby optimizing absorption speed, and is known for its 3-second quick-drying feature. It effectively locks in baby's excrement, keeping them dry, caring for their skin, and preventing leaks.

 

Layer 2: Absorbent Core

This is the magical ingredient that keeps your baby's urine and feces contained within the diaper.

Parasol's innovative dual core uses three high-performance materials.

1. Dust-free tissue imported from Korea, which wraps the core material.

2. Super Absorbent Polymer (SAP) absorbs all liquids and expands from tiny particles into a jelly-like shape. Parasol Co.'s dual core contains two types of SAP. The SAP in the upper core helps to improve absorption speed, while the SAP in the lower core helps to maximize absorption capacity. For a 12-month-old baby, it can absorb more than 580 grams of liquid in 12 hours. Our SAP is imported from Japan and Germany.

3. Fluffy wood pulp helps distribute the super absorbent resin evenly and provides a comfortable cushion for the baby. Our wood pulp is completely Totally Chlorine-Free (TCF) and FSC certified (sustainably harvested through the Forest Stewardship Council), and sourced locally in the USA.

 

Layer 3: Breathable Film

The outer film of the diaper, used to contain the baby's excrement. The printed patterns are on this film.

Parasol uses a highly breathable polyethylene film with 1600 micropores, ensuring instant breathability. Our minimalist design uses non-toxic black and white water-based ink printing. In addition, we also thoughtfully designed a wetness indicator to facilitate timely diaper changes for parents. Both the film and the wetness indicator are sourced from the USA.

 

Layer 4: Backsheet

The soft outer layer of the diaper.

Parasol's backsheet is made of ultra-soft hydrophilic non-woven fabric imported from Korea. This fabric structure aids breathability and provides ultimate soft comfort.

Additional Components to Prevent Leaks and Blowouts

Leg Cuffs

These leg cuffs surround the baby's thighs and are designed to contain urine and prevent side leaks. To prevent the leg cuffs from being too tight and leaving marks on the baby's thighs, Parasol diaper leg cuffs feature 2.165-inch widened baffles with a 0.472-inch auto-fold design and 6 strands of resilient elastic—comfort is paramount.

The auto-fold design avoids pressure on the thighs and provides a perfect fit for babies of all body types. The sturdy elastic structure provides excellent support, and the diaper will not sag even with a large amount of absorbed urine.

We use LYCRA® elastic fiber from the USA. LYCRA® fiber products have obtained C2C Gold Material Health certification, and their production facilities have also obtained OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification.

 

Waistband

This diaper fits snugly against the baby's lower back. Parasol's high-rise 180° waistband features 8 strands of super resilient elastic, designed to firmly contain excrement within the diaper and prevent back leaks.

Most diaper leaks occur when the baby is sitting. Our diaper features a retractable waistband fastening system that gently conforms to the baby's lower back, creating a snug fit between the diaper and the baby's skin without any gaps, thereby reducing the risk of diaper leaks.

We use LYCRA® elastic fiber/spandex from the USA. LYCRA® fiber products have obtained C2C Gold Material Health certification, and their production facilities have also obtained OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification.

 

Velcro Fasteners

Made from latex-free, ultra-soft fabric sourced from the USA.
